TAKE THE HORMONE QUIZ
We have prepared a quick quiz to help you determine if you should consider hormone therapy. Click the appropriate button below to take your quiz.
Hormones are entities that carry "messages" related to growth, development,
and energy, from glands to cells. When these hormones are in balance,
studies show that your body operates at its healthiest and most efficient
level. Unfortunately, the hormones your body needs to function optimally decrease as you age. However, hormone replacement therapy can
help bring levels back to optimal concentration. Hormone replacement therapy
may help you feel more energized, achieve a leaner, stronger physique,
stabilize blood pressure and cholesterol levels, increase bone strength,
boost memory, improve skin tone, and more...
Since each individual's hormonal requirements are distinctly different, we
begin by evaluating your need for hormone replacement therapy with
comprehensive diagnostic testing. Once we determine where hormonal
deficiencies exist, Dr. Allen and our team of medical professionals will
tailor a hormone replacement therapy plan aimed at helping you look and feel
your best.
SYNTHETIC HORMONES vs. BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONES
Synthetic hormones have traditionally been used in treating the symptoms of menopause in women. While these synthetic hormones are thought to offer some protection against heart disease and osteoporosis, they also have many undesirable side effects. Rather than subject patients to these side effects, we use only bio-identical hormones in our hormone replacement therapy plans. Bio-identical hormones have the same molecular structure as hormones made by our bodies, and are safer and more effective than synthetic hormones.
BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONES
Bio-identical hormones are created with a molecular formula identical to the
molecular formula of hormones our bodies make. Some hormones like estrogen,
progesterone, and testosterone naturally decrease with age, but the use of
bio-identical hormones can help restore hormones to the levels that were
present in our youth.
At Deseret Aesthetic & Lifestyle Institute, we believe optimizing your
hormones is one of the four essentials for overall optimal health. In
addition to balancing your hormones, we provide exercise, nutrition and
supplementation counseling. Combining all four of these essentials leaves
one feeling happier and healthier, filled with energy and strength and a
renewed zest for life. Life is meant to be enjoyed, not endured. Call today

EXERCISE
Exercise is vitally important for living a healthy life! Many of us view exercise as merely a means to lose weight, however, exercise is extremely important for our health as well. Have you ever heard the expression "use it or lose it"? If you don't use your body, you will surely lose it. Your muscles will become weak and flabby, your heart and lungs won't function efficiently, and joints become stiff and injure easily.
Regular exercise can help prevent disease, improve stamina, strengthen and
tone muscles, enhance flexibility, increase energy, increase metabolism,
reduce stress, improve self esteem, control weight, and improve your overall
quality of life.
Unfortunately, with amount of time we spend in front of the television and
computer, our bodies are becoming unhealthier, obesity is increasing, and
overall depression is at an all time high. Even those who know the
importance of exercise can still fall into this category. SUPPLEMENTS
Why Do We Need Supplements?
This is a common question for many people who believe our food supply is a sufficient source for health- sustaining vitamins and minerals. However, this belief may be a simple oversight because quality food sources are becoming nutritionally exhausted. The use of pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and overproduction of foods grown in nutrient depleted soils, have decreased the nutritional content of our food. In addition, the average American diet consists of high-fat, sugary, refined foods that lead to deficiencies that weaken immunity.“Insufficient vitamin intake is apparently a cause of chronic disease. Recent evidence has shown that suboptimal levels of vitamins (below standard), even well above those causing deficiency syndromes, are risk factors for chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and osteoporosis. A large portion of the general population is apparently at increased risk for this reason.”Deseret Aesthetic & Lifestyle Institute’s Health and Wellness Program offers a wide variety of supplements, many of which are doctor recommended. Combining supplements with hormones, proper diet, and exercise provide all the ingredients for optimal health. Call today for a free consultation!
NUTRITION
Over the past century our food supply has not changed but how we prepare it has, and our bodies are paying the price. With enriched flour, trans fat, and high fructose corn syrup in most of our processed food, and super sizing our intake of these empty calories, we are not giving our bodies the nourishment it needs in order to function properly and for us to feel healthy. This problem has been a growing epidemic and our increasing obesity rate is proof.Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
What Is (PCOS) and How Can Hormone Optimization Help With Treatment?
Female sex hormones include estrogen and progesterone, as well as hormones called androgens. Androgens, often called "male hormones," are also present in women, but in different amounts.ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION
How Does Hormone Therapy Affect ED and Loss of Sex Drive in Men?
Because the symptoms of low testosterone are often subtle and similar to those caused by other medical conditions, low testosterone often goes untreated. Fatigue or low energy, increased irritability or depression, a decrease in sex drive and Erectile Dysfunction are not normal signs of aging, but are often conditions that result when the body is unable to produce sufficient quantities of testosterone.DIABETES

Four days a week with a trainer, changed diet and multi-vitamins weren’t enough to change my weight, energy levels and overall cadence. At 38, I was beginning to wonder if I’d be stuck at 225lbs., 22% body fat and constantly dragging whether in the office or at home with the kids.
Through a friend, I was recommended to Dr. Allen and their hormone replacement therapy. I went in VERY skeptical, but was quickly put at ease by the caring staff, knowledgable assessment and very informative session I received from Dr. Allen.
Rather than describe all of the particulars, I’ll just give you the numbers. In less than 90-days, my body weight is down 21-pounds and I’m currently at 13.8% body fat. My energy levels are off the charts! With 4-kids under 12-years of age, I feel young and keeping up with them is no longer a chore.I’m a firm believer in this therapy and stronger advocate of the one-of-a-kind treatment I’ve received from Dr. Allen and staff.

As I was approaching my 40s and living a busy lifestyle with work and kids’ schedules, I found myself dragging and unable keep up with my everyday life. My mind was foggy and I seemed to have lost my zest for life. I came to see Dr. Allen to see if there was something I could do to regain the energy I had in my 20s. I also felt that my muscle mass was decreasing and my workouts were becoming more and more difficult and painful.
I decided to go ahead with the program that they offer and have been so pleased that I did. After starting the Hormones and supplements, it took only a few months before I was feeling like a new woman. My energy improved, I was able to keep up with my kids, my moods were balanced and I was pleasant to be around again. My workouts were amazing, my muscles were working again!
I am so grateful for the Hormones, supplements, and nutrition and exercise counseling that I have received at Deseret Aesthetic & Lifestyle Institute. Dr. Allen and his incredibly helpful and friendly staff have given me my life again and I have recommitted to a healthy lifestyle. I am looking forward to many more years of youthful energy and a better quality of life!-40 and feeling fabulous
Health and fitness has always been important to me and I have always tried to stay active by biking, running and regular exercise. I noticed with age and stress my body just didn't feel as healthy as it used to so I saw Dr Allen for an overall wellness consult.
What I learned from this visit opened my eyes to what it means to be healthy. He gave me a diet plan that imeediately gave me more energy and helped me to understand what I was putting into my body and how it would effect my health. He also checked my blood work to determine areas where I was deficient and got me on some supplements.
The result 6 months later is amazing. I have more clarity of mind, sleep better, feel less daily stress and am in the best shape I have ever been in. I recommend Dr. Allen for anyone wanting to get their body in ideal shape and feel great.-Brian
Since I've started the hormone optimization , I've experiences some AWESOME changes, and I'm just a month into it…first off, I have lots more strength and stamina during my workouts (running 5 miles , and weights)….used to be where I would just BARELY make it over 2 miles, NOW, my strength kicks in AT 2 miles and is neverending! I finish my 5 mile run stronger than I started!
Another major difference is my daily energy level. I work 40 hours a week, so I used to come home and want to do N-O-T-H-I-N-G but sit on the couch , eat something and watch tv, and be simply exhausted until bedtime! Now, at the end of my work day, I have much much more alertness, excitement and energy , I go home and can easily do my household stuff, even throw an extra workout in, and still do more after that.
One of the first things I noticed after I started the plan was that I no longer felt as if I was in "pieces" during the day… as the day wore on, I'd start forgetting stuff, I'd lose energy, it felt as though I would piece by piece "fall apart" as the day went on, and now, I would describe how I feel each and every day as being "centered" . I know usually that is a spiritual word used a lot these days…but that's how it best describes how I feel now… I feel like a complete unit, strong and alert, no longer losing myself piece by piece as the day goes on!!-Tammy
